BETHANY — Texas Wesleyan University (19-4, 6-3 SAC) secured a decisive 13-2 victory over Southwestern Christian University (11-12, 1-8 SAC) on Sunday. Texas Wesleyan's offense was highlighted by a seven-run explosion in the ninth inning.

Giuseppe Buttaci singled and
Logan Silvertooth was hit by a pitch, setting the stage for
Daniel Hernandez's bunt single that allowed Buttaci to score.
Jose Rangel followed with an RBI single, and
Brendon Vela added another RBI single.
Endi Jaquez capped the inning with a sacrifice fly, bringing the score to 4-0 in favor of the Rams.
In the fifth inning, Texas Wesleyan extended its lead to 5-0 when Buttaci singled, advanced on a hit by Silvertooth, and scored on a groundout by Hernandez. In the bottom half, Southwestern Christian managed to get on the board with an unearned run, making it 5-1 through five innings.
The eighth inning saw Texas Wesleyan's Hernandez double and eventually score on
Jorge Herrera's sacrifice fly, while Southwestern Christian answered with a run of its own, maintaining a 6-2 lead for the Rams.
The ninth inning was a showcase for Texas Wesleyan's offense, starting with Rangel's walk and Vela's RBI double. Silvertooth delivered a two-RBI double, followed by Hernandez's RBI single.
