LE MARS — Texas Wesleyan University finished second among eight teams, while Makena Junkin captured her second consecutive individual title at the Northwest Iowa National Invitational on Tuesday at LeMars Willow Creek Golf Course.

The Rams finished at 1-over-par 865 after rounds of 293, 286 and 286, placing second behind Embry-Riddle, which finished at 20-under 844.

Junkin led the way for Texas Wesleyan, shooting a 14-under-par 202 to win the individual championship by three strokes. She opened with a 6-under 66, followed with a 69 and closed with a 67. The victory marks her second consecutive tournament championship after she won the Texas Intercollegiate last week.

Corrina Griffin also delivered a top-five performance, tying for fourth at 2-under 211. Griffin carded rounds of 72, 68 and 74.

Juliette Saillour finished eighth at 1-over 214 after rounds of 77, 70 and 70.

Sophia Gorgees Baeta and Maggie Pham both finished at 9-over 222 to tie for 16th. Gorgees Baeta posted three consecutive rounds of 75, while Pham shot 75, 76 and 74.

Jordan Pillay rounded out the Texas Wesleyan lineup, tying for 23rd at 12-over 225. Pillay opened with a 79 before improving to a 72 in the second round and closing with a 77.

The Rams placed four golfers inside the top 16, led by Junkin's tournament-winning performance and Griffin's top-five finish, to secure the runner-up team finish.
