BETHANY, OK: The Texas Wesleyan University women’s volleyball team (13-16) suffered a 3-0 loss against the Southern Nazarene University Crimson Storm (28-5) on Tuesday.

Neither team could gain control, but SNU closed out a 25-22 win with a kill and a TWU hitting error. Game three was more of the same. Texas Wesleyan kept the matter tied through ten points, but SNU opened a 20-15 lead on their way to a 25-19 match-clinching win.
Overall the match saw 20 ties and six lead changes. SNU made 10 service errors, but came up with eight total blocks that inflated Texas Wesleyan’s attack errors.

Angelica Arroyo collected a double-double with 29 assists and 11 digs.
Marissa Rangel finished with a team-high 13 digs.
“It was a tough match,” said head coach Christy Clawson, “but SNU just wanted to win more than we did.”
The Lady Rams will close out the regular season with two conference matches at home. They will host University of the Southwest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday and Bacone College at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Friday will be marked by Senior Day festivities, while Saturday is Parent’s Day.
Those final matches are very significant to Texas Wesleyan’s playoff hopes as the Rams can win their way into the RRAC tournament. Texas Wesleyan is just a half game out of fourth place in the conference standings, but, at 3-4 in conference play, they are currently tied with Southwest for the sixth and final spot in next week’s RRAC Tournament, while Bacone is just a game and a half back in seventh place.
