FORT WORTH, TX: For the third time this season, Texas Wesleyan University’s
Eric Frederick has been named Red River Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Frederick claimed the award for his performance during the period of January 16-22.
Frederick, a senior forward from Oklahoma City, OK, averaged 29.0 points and 10.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the Rams. He scored 30 and grabbed eight rebounds in a 105-79 win over the University of the Southwest (NM). He then notched his seventh double-double of the season with 28 points and 13 boards in a 79-69 win at Langston University (OK). For the week, Frederick shot 66.7% (20-of-30) from the field, 50% (6-of-12) from three-point range and 92.3% (12-of-13) from the free throw line.
The Rams will return to action on Saturday, when they host LSU-Shreveport in the Clifford Classic. That game is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start at the Sid Richardson Center.
