RICHARDSON, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University baseball team (26-11) suffered a 5-4 loss in ten innings at UT-Dallas (17-11) on Tuesday.
Texas Wesleyan started the game by manufacturing a run in the top of the first.
Taylor Jockers led off the game with a bunt single, stole second, moved to third on a sac bunt from
Christian Soberanes, and scored on a grounder off the bat of
Justin Barnes.
UTD took the lead with a two-out two-run single from Jacob Starnes in the second inning, and added a solo homer from Kaleb Robinson in the fourth.
In the fifth, Soberanes and Barnes singled and

That score held into the bottom of the ninth. A leadoff walk proved costly when Zak Anderson ripped an RBI double two batters later to tie the game at four.
With one out in the tenth, Elisha Setoon reached on an infield single. Setoon moved to third when Robinson singled through the right side and scored on a bunt from Daniel Saxon.
Patrick Stanley (1-2) took the loss after allowing a run on four hits in 1.1 innings pitched. Max Willard (1-1) picked up the win with two perfect innings of relief work.
All eight of Texas Wesleyan hits came from the top six in the order. Barnes went 2-for-5 with a 3B, RBI, and two runs scored. Padilla added three RBI to the cause, and
Joseph Lassiter went 2-for-4 at the plate.
The Rams will return to action with a three-game Red River Athletic Conference series at Bacone College this Weekend. Friday’s opener is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start with Saturday’s doubleheader scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. first pitch in Muskogee, OK.
