#1 Pilots Take Finale

SHREVEPORT, LA:  The Texas Wesleyan University baseball team (33-18, 16-10 RRAC) suffered a 14-2 loss at the hands of top-ranked LSU-Shreveport (42-4, 22-4) in the finale of a three-game Red River Athletic Conference series on Monday.
 
LSUS started things off with a two-run homer from Greco in the bottom of the first and added RBI from Estrada and Hobbins in the third.  An RBI single from Gonsoulin brought the score to 5-0 in the fourth.
 Justin Barnes  laced a two-run single in the fifth to bring Texas Wesleyan within three, but the Pilots put the game away with seven runs on three hits and five hit batters.
 
Norris Logan (6-1) earned the win after allowing two runs on five hits in six innings of work.  Dillon Wilson (6-2) took the loss after allowing five runs on seven hits in four innings pitched.
 
Barnes went 2-for-3 at the plate in the loss.
 
The Rams will return to action on Tuesday when they host Tarleton State University.  That game is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start.
