#1 Stars Top #25 Rams

Box Score OKLAHOMA CITY, OK: The #25 ranked Texas Wesleyan University baseball team (37-14) ended the season falling 13-6 to #1 ranked Oklahoma City University (41-9) in what was ultimately a tune up game before the conference tournament.
 
The Stars picked up two runs in the first on a Jonathan Rodriguez RBI double to left center and a Forrest Smith RBI single through the left side.
 
Jonathan Sigado hit a solo homer to left center in the second inning for a 3-0 lead.
 
The Rams got a run back in the third inning with a Dusty Harper first pitch, lead-off home run to get Wesleyan on the board at 3-1
 
Cody Ferrell hit a two run home run to left field in the bottom half of the same inning for a 5-1 advantage.
 
Charles Tabone hit a solo home run over the right field wall to make it a 5-2 game.
 
The Stars tried to put the game out of reach that started with a Chris Munoz two run homer. Rodriguez RBI triple to right center and later scored on a wild pitch, and Smith notched a RBI double to make it a 10-2 OK City lead.
 
Texas Wesleyan manufactured a run in the fifth on a fielder’s choice RBI by Henry Yates in the fifth inning
 
Harper got a groundout RBI, and Jake Davis picked up a RBI single to left center to make it a 10-5 deficit.
 
Harper doubled to left center for a RBI in the eighth to make it a 10-6 game as the Rams put up steady scores throughout the contest, but were unable to produce any big innings to get back into the ball game.
 
The Stars would go on to grab three more runs to secure a 13-6 win.
 
Harper led the Rams going 2 for 4 with three RBI and a run scored. Davis came off the bench going 1 for 2 with a RBI and a run scored.
 
The Rams gear up for the first round of the RRAC tournament hosted by LSU-Shreveport. Third seeded Texas Wesleyan will take on the fourth seeded host team Pilots on Saturday, April 27 at 3:00 pm.
