FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University Baseball club (9-7) took a 9-5 win over Dallas Christian College (7-6) at La Grave Field on Tuesday.

The Crusaders picked up a pair of two out singles to start the game, but the Rams squashed any beginnings of a rally.

Wesleyan followed that up with a pair of singles to put runners on first and second with only one out.Â

Dakota Lee smashed a double that beat the center fielder all the way to the wall, scoringÂ
Jake Howeth and Martinez from first base for a 3-0 lead after one inning.

Dallas Christian got on the board in the second after a botched fly ball put Nathan Maxey on third. That led to a Tom Wilson sacrifice fly to center to make it a 3-1 game.

Chabriel Pizarro made it a 3-2 game in the third inning with a RBI single to left center, advancing to second on the throw, and putting a runner on third with none away. The Crusaders added two more runs on a Nathan Maxey single to right center, taking a 4-3 lead.

Maxey added another run in the fifth inning with a RBI single to left center for a 5-3 advantage.

The Rams found themselves with the bases loaded and one away in the bottom of the fifth inning, when Lee earned another RBI on a shallow line drive to center.Â
Tyler Kamtz beat the third baseman with a rocket through the left side to tie the game.Â
Manny Sanchez delivered a sacrifice RBI to right field to put the Rams in front, 6-5.

Texas Wesleyan tacked on three more runs in the last two innings for a 9-5 victory over Dallas Christian.

Brandon Kaufman notched the win tossing 1.1 innings. He had two strikeouts in the win.Â
Avery Sullivan picked up his first save of the season in two innings of relief work.

Lee led the Rams going 3 for 4 with three RBI. Kamtz went 2 for 5 with a pair of RBI. Jake Davis added two RBI in a pinch hit spot. Martinez and Howeth both went 2 for 4 in the win.

Texas Wesleyan will take on Southwestern Assemblies of God on Thursday, March 6 in a double header starting at 2:30 pm.
