FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University baseball team (9-10) notched a pair of wins over Peru State College (4-6). The Rams held off the Bobcats in game one for a 2-1 win, and made a comeback in game two to take a 5-3 win at QuickTrip Park on Tuesday.

The Rams wasted no time in game one, jumping on the Bobcats in the first inning.
Jake Howeth was hit by a pitch to put a runner on with one away in the inning.
Tyler Kamtz drove a shot deep into right center field and raced around the bases for a RBI triple.
Quavian Lawson followed that up with a double, to nearly the same spot in right center to score Kamtz easily, taking a 2-1 lead.

Pasqual Mendoza (1-0) and the Rams shut down Peru State for the next four innings. The Bobcats finally got on the board in the sixth on three consecutive base hits capped by an Adam Quintana RBI single through the left side.Â

Texas Wesleyan got an out to end the inning, and
Avery Sullivan shut Peru State down in the seventh to record his third save of the season. Â Mendoza got the win with 5.2 innings of work. He gave up one run on four hits, walked none, and struck out one.

Lawson led the Rams going 2 for 3 with a RBI. Kamtz went 1 for 3 with a RBI.
Jake Davis tallied a hit in two at bats for the Rams.
Dusteyn Suttle went 1 for 3 in the win.

The Rams struck first again in the second game, this time in the second inning.
Matt Horn hit a single down the right field line to lead off the inning.
Rod Lewis drew a walk and both runners moved into scoring position on a passed ball.
Nathaniel Dillon hit a fly ball to mid-center field, but deep enough to score Horn for a RBI sacrifice fly. Davis hit a line drive RBI base hit to left field to give Wesleyan a 2-0 cushion after two innings.

Starting pitcher
Stephen Yancey held the Bobcats scoreless for three innings, but Peru State cut the lead in half in the top of the fourth. Â Seth Walston delivered a RBI single through the left side to make it a 2-1 game.

Peru State grabbed the lead with a two run sixth inning. The Bobcats put two runners on base with two outs, and Walston drove in his second and third run of the game with a double down the left field line. That gave Peru State College a 3-2 advantage late in the game.

The Rams answered in the bottom of the sixth, starting with a Lewis pin-point RBI triple down the right field line to tie the game. Pinch hitter
Ryan Mendez laid down a bunt to score Lewis, but it was good enough for a single to third base. Mendez advanced to second on a throwing error, putting another runner in scoring position with one out.
Hayden Muns pinch hit and also came up with clutch hit. Muns hit a looping shot just inside the left field line that took a left turn over the short wall in foul territory for a RBI ground rule double to give Wesleyan a 5-3 lead.

Jason Price camein the came in the seventh, and ended the game on a ground ball double play to pick his first win of the season.

Mendez went 1 for 1 with a RBI and a run scored. Lewis went 1 for 2 with a RBI and two runs scored. Davis went 1 for 3 with a RBI in the win.

The Rams will resume conference play with a contest against Southwestern Assemblies of God University on Friday, March 13 starting at 3:00 pm.
