FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team (23-4, 11-4 SAC) grabbed a 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-14) win versus Bacone College (2-19, 1-13 SAC) on Saturday afternoon.

It was a homecoming of sorts for Bacone College head coach Mari Rangel today. Rangel is in her first season and was a former assistant coach for Texas Wesleyan. The Ram alum played softball and volleyball, collecting numerous in-season and post-season accolades. She was a two-time All-Conference selection in volleyball and softball. Rangel also led the softball team to an NAIA National Tournament, and also holds school records in single batting average (.463-2011) and career batting average (.422).

Texas Wesleyan hung on to a 7-4 lead after a
Carli Owens front row kill. That quickly turned into a 9-3 capped by a Britni Mohle booming shot to make it an 18-9 advantage. The Warriors went on a 6-0 rally to cut the lead to 22-20, but
Brianna Jaramillo and the Rams finished the set with a 25-23.

The Rams sprinted out to an 8-0 lead to start the second set, highlighted by an
Alanna Hayhurst kill. TXWES made another lopsided 8-2 run to extend the lead to 19-9 with help from a Jaramillo laser-like kill. Â The Warriors could not make a dent in the lead as Hayhurst and Jaramillo earned a block to win the set, 25-15.

The Lady Rams flexed their muscles a bit in the final set, jumping out to a 13-4 advantage capped on a
Shaylee Griffin kill. Wesleyan wasted no time with another 6-0 rally capped by three consecutive kills from Stinnett that made it a 19-5 game. Although the Warriors outscored the Rams down the stretch 9-6, Bacone ran out of points as a
Kiersten Mebane kill lifted Wesleyan to a 25-14 win.

With the win, the Lady Rams matched their win total from last season at 24 with three regular season matches remaining. Wesleyan hit .321 as a team, and head coach
Kimberly Weaver was able to incorporate her entire bench in the match. The Rams also tallied eight blocks in the match, with seven players recording at least one block.

Jaramillo and Hayhurst each finished with nine kills, while Stinnett went 8-0-15, hitting .533 and tacking on 16 digs.
Carli Owens added five kills and five blocks.
Chalon Anderson posted 12 digs and four aces in the win. Robinson tallied 19 assists in the match.

The Lady Rams will take the short drive to Waxahachie, TX for a meeting with Southwestern Assemblies of God University on Tuesday, October 25. That match is set for a 7:00 pm. Â Â
