Cleremont, FL: The Texas Wesleyan University (9-9) took three losses to St. Ambrose University (9-1) 3-1, Concordia University (MI) (10-5) 7-5, and Indiana Tech (6-7) 3-2 in the first day of the 2016 Spring Games at Legends Way Ballfields on Monday.

In the game against the St. Ambrose University, the Bees posted two runs in the bottom of the first inning with two RBI base hits.

The Lady Rams got a runner in scoring position in the fourth inning, but were turned away by the Bees to keep the game at 2-0.

St. Ambrose grabbed a run in the fourth, before the Lady Rams loaded the bases in the fifth after a
Kaley Batchlear base hit set up a Bees mishap to make it a 3-1 ball game.

Ambrose would hold on to take the 3-1 edge over Texas Wesleyan.

The Lady Rams posted a two spot in the bottom of the first in the game versus Concordia University (MI).
Samantha Vasquez knocked a base hit in the gap before
Brittany Rosenberry got a run home with a RBI sacrifice fly to center field. A Cardinal error allowed another Wesleyan run to cross the plate to make it a 2-0 advantage.

The Cardinal responded with a Lindsey Pyle home run to cut the lead to 2-1 in the second inning.

Bailey Terry tagged a shot in the gap for a two bagger that led to a
Dani West RBI single to add an insurance run for a 3-1 edge.

Concordia leveled the game at 3 apiece with a two run third, playing some good small ball and working the bases. The Cardinal took their first lead of the game with a Pyle two run home, her second of the game for a 6-3 edge in the fifth.

The Lady Rams made a few changes in the lineup and
Shelby Reddington came up with a RBI base knock to cut the game to 6-4 Concordia in the bottom of the fifth.

Wesleyan added a run in the sixth with a RBI single from Prachyl to cut it to a 6-5 deficit. TWU had the bases loaded but could not do any more damage.

CU added an insurance run in the seventh 7-5, and shut down the Rams to escape with a win.

In the night cap with Indiana Tech, the Lady Rams got an early 1-0 lead with a Vasquez RBI single set up by a Prachyl lead-off triple. Both teams picked up run in the middle inning as the game stayed knotted at 2-2

The Warriors finally broke the tie in the sixth inning with a RBI single to make take a 3-2 edge. The Lady Rams were held in check the rest of the way to take another close loss.
The Lady Rams will continue their tournament with games with Concordia at 3:00 pm and University of St. Francis at 5:00pm
