ARLINGTON, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women's tennis team (11-3) will play in the
NAIA Unaffiliated Group Regional Final at 2:00 pm on Saturday. In semifinal action at
Arlington Tennis Center on Friday, the Lady Rams rolled to a 5-0 win over Texas A&M-Texarkana (4-16).
The Lady Rams swept three doubles matches from Texarkana.
Katy Foster and
Emily Murchland improved to 13-2 on the No. 1 line with an 8-1 win, while
Laura Grunden and
Emily Rodriguez took the second line 8-3. The Rams were challenged in No. 3 doubles, but
Maggie Brasher and
Ashton Willis closed strong to take an 8-6 win over Kaly Douglas and Haley Lofton.
Katy Foster breezed to a 6-0, 6-1 win in No. 2 singles, and
Ashton Willis closed out the match with a 6-1, 6-2 win in No. 4 singles. Rodriguez also complete her match on the fifth line with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Ashleigh Finley.
Meanwhile top-seeded and 21st ranked LSU-Alexandria (10-6) took a 5-0 win over University of the Southwest (4-9) to set up a meeting between the top-two seeds in Saturday's championship match.
In men's action, Our Lady of the Lake (4-5) defeated Southwestern Christian (6-3) 5-0 and University of the Southwest (8-6) topped Texas A&M-Texarkana (2-12) 5-0. OLLU and USW will play for the title at 9:00 am.

- Foster and Murchland are now 13-2 on the season as a doubles pair.
- Foster took her 20th singles win of the season. She is now 20-10 on the season (9-4 in No. 2 singles). She is also 24-4 overall in doubles play.
