SHAWNEE, OK: The Texas Wesleyan University softball team (16-24, 7-9 SAC) dropped a pair of games (4-1, 7-1) to NAIA No. 3 ranked Saint Gregory's University (31-3, 17-1 SAC) on Friday.

Wesleyan took an early lead in game one, starting with a
Kayla Prachyl lead-off single.
Dani West took her place on a fielder's choice play, but made up for it by stealing second. A wild pitch moved her to third for a
Bailey Terry RBI base hit for a 1-0 lead.

Lady Ram ace
Brittany Rosenberry threw a strong three and a third innings to keep the Lady Rams with the lead. The Cavaliers finally got on the board with a rally in the fourth by way of a Sammy Leisinger RBI triple to right-center, followed by an Ashli Hafford two run home run to left to take a 3-1 lead.

The Cavs added one more in the bottom of the sixth due to a Ram error to make it 4-1.

Texas Wesleyan was held in check despite out-hitting their opponent 6-5, taking the game one loss.

Samantha Vasquez went 2 for 3 with a walk. Â
Demi Dotson went 2 for 3. Terry went 1 for 3 with one RBI.

The Lady Rams found a short lead to start game two. Prachyl reached base on a walk and was moved to second on a West sacrifice bunt. Terry drove the run home with a base hit to take a 1-0.

The Cavaliers responded in the bottom of the inning with a four hit inning highlighted by another Hafford three run home run to center field to take a 3-1 lead.

St. Gregory's added a run in the second, two more in the fifth, and finished with an insurance run in the sixth, while defending home field with six scoreless innings to take a 7-1 win.

Prachyl went 2 for 3 with a walk and a run scored. Dotson went 2 for 3.

The Lady Rams will make a short drive to Muskogee, OK for a double header with Bacone College tomorrow starting at noon.
