Â
The Lady Rams took control to start the fourth set with a 5-1 start highlighted by an
Alanna Hayhurst booming kill. Jaramillo and the Lady Rams extended the lead to 12-4, prompting a MACU timeout. Texas Wesleyan held on to the momentum and kept a small edge to secure a 25-18 win, forcing a fifth set.
Â
The Evangels seemed to be running out of steam as the depth of the Lady Rams helped them to a 7-2 lead highlighted by another Hayhurst gym-rattling kill. A
Brittni Mohle kill late, setting up a 15-6 win.
Â
"I think this win was a pivotal moment for us," commented head coach
Kimberly Weaver after the comeback win. "We were able to overcome a slow start and finished extremely strong. Much of our momentum was initiated by
Morgan Reese and
Chalon Anderson. They both made outstanding defensive plays at very key moments. Morgan ran a very good offense tonight.
Brittni Mohle also had a huge match, and the spark we got from
Alanna Hayhurst was much needed."
Â
Stinnett led the Lady Rams with 14 kills and 21 digs in the win.
Sasha Robinson put up 26 assists and 26 digs. Mohle tacked on 14 kills, hitting .400 in an extremely efficient night.
