STEPHENVILLE, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women's basketball team dropped a 90-60 exhibition to NCAA DII Tarleton State University at Wisdom Gym on Saturday.

TXWES got on the board first, with a Lorian Benjamin layup, but the Rams spent the game playing from behind as the TexAnns established a double-digit advantage before the end of the opening quarter.

The Rams posted an 11-0 rally in the second quarter, chopping the TSU lead to just three points after a pair of three-pointers from Nicole Gleason led to a Falesha Fuller jumper to make it 25-22. Tarleton State weathered the Lady Ram charge and took a nine-point, 43-34 lead at the break.

The deficit grew in the second half as the TexAnns shot 59 percent from the floor, while the Rams managed just 36 percent. TSU out-scored TXWES 22-12 in the paint on the way to a 90-60 win.

Texas Wesleyan shot 38 percent from the field, while Tarleton State averaged 52 percent. Â

The Lady Rams posted their largest scoring output of the early season as Nicole Gleason led all players with 16 points. The sophomore from Heath, TX went 6-14 from the floor and hit four three-pointers. She also led the team with seven rebounds.
Falesha Fuller was outstanding in the paint, going 5-9 from the field and pouring in 11 points. The junior from Garland, TX also tallied five boards and three steals.

TXWES will continue their road stretch, playing in the SAGU classic starting on Friday, November 10. The Rams take on the University of St. Thomas-Houston at 4:00 p.m. at the Sheaffer Full Life Center.
