Lady Rams Drop Warriors, 67-57

MUSKOGEE, OK: The Texas Wesleyan University women's basketball team (18-11, 10-8 SAC) ended the regular season on a high note with a 67-57 win over Bacone College (9-19, 5-13 SAC) on Saturday.
 
The Lady Rams shot 55 percent in the second quarter to fuel a double digit lead to halftime. Texas Wesleyan also held the Warriors to 21 percent shooting in the first half.
 
For the game, the Warriors shot 11 more times than the Rams, who countered with plus eight rebounding. Bacone College could never cut the lead down to single digits, and the Rams led by as many as 18 points on the way to the 67-57 win.      
 
Katelynn Threats went 50 percent from the floor for 16 points. The senior from Fort Worth added seven boards and a pair of blocks in the win. She now ranks fifth all-time in school history with 1,375 points, just five points from passing Gwen Thorne (1979-83). For her career, the 5-11 forward is averaging 16.6 points per game and 50.5 percent from the floor.  
 
Bailey Broadnax tallied a double-double behind 10 points and 11 rebounds. Broadnax finished the regular season averaging 66.3 percent shooting and 12.2 points per game. Falesha Fuller posted 11 points on the night and eclipsed 200 total points for the second time in as many years.
 
Ashlie Bruner posted six assists in the game and leads the conference in total assists with 174 and assists per game at 6.21. She ranks second in NAIA in those same categories.
 
The Lady Rams are locked into the fifth spot in the conference standings and will travel to Oklahoma City, OK to play fourth-seeded Mid-America Christian University in the SAC Quarterfinal game. Start time to be determined.
