CHICKASHA, OK: The Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team (13-1, 3-1 SAC) romped to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-22) win over the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma (1-7, 0-4 SAC) at Drover Fieldhouse on Friday night.

The Lady Rams hit .286 as a team in the win over USAO tonight, outpacing their NAIA 16th ranked team hitting season average of.245, their best since 2006.

TXWES also out-blocked their conference opponent 7-2, and won the dig battle 42-34 in an impressive defensive showing. The Rams also committed fewer errors than the Drovers, 20-33.

The Lady Rams tore through the Drover defense to start the match, galloping out to a 16-4 lead after an 11-0 rally that featured a pair of kills by SAC Hitter of the Week, Shelby Stinnett and Tierra Coverson. TXWES cruised to a 25-15 win after hitting .207 as a team with three blocks.

The second set was the most efficient for the Lady Rams, boasting an attacking line of 17-2-28, hitting .536. The hot hitting set was stoked by Dana Lohrke, who hit .667 with seven kills. Four of those kills came on an 8-0 rally to gain an 18-6 advantage. The Rams went on to a 25-13 win.

The Drovers got their only two blocks of the night on back to back plays that cut a Ram lead to 11-8 early in the third set. USAO slowly chopped the lead to a two-point, 16-14 TXWES, but the Lady Rams held on to the slight lead. Lohrke recorded the final two kills of the match as Texas Wesleyan coasted to a 25-22 win.

Lohrke notched career high 13 kills in the win. Sasha Robinson led TXWES with 16 assists, while Sarah Benitez led the team with seven digs. Coverson had a solo block and five block assists in the win.
