Seven In A Row! Lady Rams Top Warriors

FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team (15-1, 5-1 SAC) extended their streak to 18 straight sets with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-11, 25-15) conference win over Bacone College (5-11, 0-7 SAC) at the Sid Richardson Center on Friday.
 
It was the seventh consecutive match win for the Rams, who once again dominated their opponent with a fury of floor-rattling kills, hitting .364 as a team. Shelby Stinnett led the way with 10 kills and finished the game hitting .796. Dana Lohrke pelted the defense with nine kills, hitting .462.  Brianna Jaramillo powered home seven kills and hit .500 in the process. Tierra Coverson smacked six kills and 1.5 blocks, including an opponent deflating solo block in the third set.
 
Sasha Robinson continues to make her case for player of the year, grabbing four kills, 17 assists, three aces, four digs, and one block assist. Hannah Altman had the offense running on all cylinders with a season high 16 assists, adding two aces against the Warriors. Kayla Hayes notched a season high three aces in the win.
 
The Lady Rams are now 23-0 all-time against Bacone College. TXWES is ranked 13th in the nation in hitting at .255.
 
Texas Wesleyan has a tough test tomorrow, taking on a solid John Brown team. The two teams are tied for third in the conference, one half game back of Oklahoma City (6-1 SAC), and one game behind SAGU (6-0 SAC). The match is set for tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. at the Sid Richardson Center.
