WXC finishes 11th at NAIA Mid-States Classic

WINFIELD, Kan. – The Texas Wesleyan women's cross country team placed 11th at the NAIA Mid-States Classic, hosted by Southwestern College on Saturday.
 
The event was led by NAIA No. 1 and SAC mate Wayland Baptist. The Pioneers bested 23 other team to take the team win with a total time of 89:50. There were four other teams represented in the top 25 today, including the host Moundbuilders, who rank 25th.
 
Oklahoma City's Lydia Mato topped the rest of the 188 player field, turning in a time of 17:14 in the 5k race.
 
Melissa Gonzalez once again led the Lady Rams, placing 21 st with a time of 19:04, her second best of the season.
 
Rey Vidales posted a career-best time of 19:32.
 
Chloe Riley crossed the finish line with a season best time of 20:16.
 
The Lady Rams will prepare for the Sooner Athletic Conference championships on Saturday, November 3 in Oklahoma City.
