Women's Cross Country posts strong numbers in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO - Texas Wesleyan cross country competed in the 2018 Saints Invitational Saturday and battled through the weather to finish fourth out of 12 teams.

The women ran a 5K finishing eight minutes behind the winner Texas A&M International. St. Edwards and Our Lady of the Lake finished second and third, respectively.

Melissa Gonzalez finished a stellar fourth with a time of 20:02.8, just 10.8 seconds behind the winner. Hannah Martinez managed a top 20 finish as well, 21:20.1.

The Runnin' Rams competed at the Windcrest Golf Club, a city most known for their Christmas Light-Up. The Gold Club course is mostly flat but the misty and rainy conditions did no favors to any runners.

WHAT'S NEXT:
Texas Wesleyan heads West to Santa Clarita, Calif. for The Master's University XC Invitational. The race starts at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 29.
