Tennis opens spring season on good foot at Concordia TX

Lady Rams dominated 8-1, Rams edge Tornados 5-4

| Box Score 2 AUSTIN, Texas - The Texas Wesleyan men's and women's tennis teams earned victories in the spring season opener over Concordia University in the state capital on Saturday. The Lady Rams dominated with an 8-1 win, while the Rams out ran the Tornados 5-4.  

Caitlyn Souvannavong and Cara Antonio led the way for the Lady Rams. Souvannavong took a pair of 6-2 set wins in #3 singles, while Antonio won in straight sets in #4 singles, 6-3, 6-1.

The Lady Rams shined in doubles, overpowering Concordia in all three match-ups. 

The Rams won #2, #4, #5, and #6 singles, while the duo of Mathieu Vinet and Pablo Olmedo ended up being the deciding factor as the lone win in doubles play. Thibault Gasser blanked his opponent with a pair of 6-0 sets in #6 singles. 

The teams will play Howard Payne on Saturday, February 13th. The Men will also set to compete at Collin County Community College on February 11th.
