Watch week 2 highlight here:

Texas Wesleyan takes a trip to the desert for a meeting with the OUAZ Spirit this Saturday, after up-ending OPSU 49-20 to start 2-0 for the first time since the restart of the program in 2017.

After a pair of Rams were recognized as SAC players of the week in week 1 (LB Tyquandrik Conner and punter Gregory Blaser), RB Clint Epperson and WR/Return Specialist AJ Bobb were named SAC Players of the Week for week two.

AJ Bobb was also award Player of the Week at the NAIA level, after he broke loose on an 89-yard punt return for a touchdown to make it a 35-14 game in the third quarter, providing a game-breaker for the Rams special teams unit Saturday in Goodwell, Okla.

Epperson was awarded SAC Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 175 yards on 18 carries, 1-yard short of the school's single game rushing record. He blasted off a 61-yard touchdown run in the blowout win over OPSU.

OUAZ is 2-0, outscoring opponents 118 to 38. The Spirit are 3-0 vs. the Rams as TXWES looks to take the officials out of the game after a nightmarish 42-38 loss in their last meeting (2019), where the Rams were shorted time on the clock after a mistake by the officiating crew and simply bad clock operating efforts. Donovan Isom led the Rams 82 yards in 12 plays, including a first down at the OUAZ 1-yard line that should have stopped the clock so the officials could reset the ball, however the clock continued to run and the Rams left Surprise, Ariz. with a feeling of unfinished business hovering over them.

The team will look to silence the OUAZ Spirit on Saturday night.
