Box Score DALLAS-- The Texas Wesleyan men's basketball team (16-5, 9-4 SAC) defeated UNT-Dallas (8-13, 4-10) 67-64 at the Singing Hills Rec Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Rams established their presence in the paint as junior
Kristian Lafayette recorded his twelfth double-double of the season with 14 points and 17 rebounds. Lafayette is the only player in the SAC to average a double-double and is fourth in the nation in rebounds with 11.2 per game. This was also Lafayette's sixth straight double-double.

TXWES shot 13 of 25 (52 percent) in the first half and 8 of 10 from the free-throw line (80 percent.) The Rams did not attempt a three-pointer in the first half. After one half of play TXWES led 34-33.
Rebounding was crucial in this game as the Rams out-rebounded the Trailblazers 33 to 22. In the second half the Rams shot 40 percent of from the field. A huge reason TXWES squeaked past UNT-Dallas was the free-throw line. The Rams made 16 of their 19 shots (84 percent) at the free-throw line in the second half.
The Rams played stifling defense as they only allowed the Trailblazers to shoot 44 percent from the field. Junior
Kristian Lafayette dominated at the defensive end with 6 blocks.
The Rams are 2-0 all time against the Trailblazers. TXWES will return home on Thursday, Jan. 27 to take on Mid-America Christian University at the Sid-Richardson Center.
