FORT WORTH-- The Texas Wesleyan baseball team (11-7) defeated Austin College (0-5) in both games of a DH on Sunday afternoon at Sycamore Park. The Rams topped the Kangaroos 24-9 in game one and 9-3 in game 2.
The two teams played two seven inning games. In game one, superb hitting paved the way, in game two solid defense and sound pitching led the Rams to victory.
"Our middle of the order did a great at the plate today," said head coach
Bobby Garza. "Our 3-6 holes played a huge part in the offensive putting up a lot of runs. Kevin Santiago was really putting together good at bats in game 1."
In game one, the TXWES bats were electric scoring 24 runs on 15 hits. Kevin Santiago capped off a 6 run third inning with a base-clearing double to left-center off the wall to extend the TXWES lead to 8-2. Santiago recorded 8 RBI's in game one on two hits in four at-bats.
Morgan McCloud improves his record to 3-0 on the season, pitching three innings and giving up two runs and three hits.Â
TXWES scored 24 runs, which is the sixth time this season the Rams have scored 20 or more runs in a game.

Chaesten Chon were the six Rams to record at least two hits. The Rams hit .441 in game 1 on 34 at-bats.

Hayden Hutchins on a single through the left side to extend the TXWES lead to 2-0.

The Rams continued their offensive prowess as Kevin Santiago blasted a homerun to left field to lead the third inning off.

Brayden McAlister dominated on the mound, pitching two innings, striking two batters out, and giving up no runs. He moves to 2-0 on the season.

Joseph Barfield recorded two RBI's and two hits in three at-bats.
In game two, the Rams recorded 13 hits, 11 runs, and 7 RBI's. TXWES will travel to Louisiana on Tuesday to take on Louisiana State University Shreveport at 2 p.m.
