MARSHALL, MO.-- The Texas Wesleyan men's wrestling team competed at the Missouri Valley College Open on Friday afternoon. 

Junior Drake McKee dominated opponents on the mat as he scored 19 total points on his way to losing in the 1st place match of the 174 lb. weight class. McKee won by a (Dec 10-7) over Bryce Farwoski (Central Missouri.) In round 3 McKee continued his domination with victory by fall-over against Avante Williams (Missouri Baptist University.) 

McKee upended Jenson McDermott (Benedictine College) with a win by a 7-2 decision in the quarterfinal round of the 174 lb. weight class. McKee followed up his quarterfinal performance with a win by a 6-4 decision over Justin McCunn (Grand View) in the semifinal match, which punched his ticket to the championship match. 

After a hard fought battle in the championship match, McKee fell short with a loss by tech fall over against Alex Reynolds (Grand View.) McKee went 4-1 in five matches on the day. 

Fresh off his championship run at last week's competition, senior Jordan Martinez won 5 matches. He won two matches by a major decision and three matches by decision. Martinez lost in the 3rd place match of the 133 lb. weight class against Drew Liles (Pratt Community College.) 

The Rams snagged 123 team points on the afternoon. TXWES recorded 4 pins and 1 fall-over. The Rams will compete at the Sooner Athletic Conference championships on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 9 A.M.
