Box Score 2 MCPHERSON, KS-- The Texas Wesleyan baseball team (14-9, 3-2 SAC) swept a DH against Central Christian College (6-14, 0-2 SAC) on Saturday afternoon in McPherson, Kansas. TXWES dominated with an 21-4 victory in game 1. The Rams put up 4 runs in the first inning and led 9-4 after two. Then, dominant pitching took over to shut down the Tigers for the remainder of the game.
Tomas Sanchez led off the game with a homerun in the first inning. After a single and a walk by
Joseph Barfield and
Hayden Hutchins,
Jake Ervin homered over the center-field fence on an 0-1 pitch to give the Rams a 4-0 lead.
Central Christian College followed in the bottom of the first with a leadoff single by Sam Chavez and then a double by Koki Matsuda. Both eventually scored. After singling, Mason Seay scored on a double by Julius Sifuentes. Finally, Tristen Gilbert scored the fourth run of the inning.
The Rams went on a power surge the rest of the way, totaling 7 homeruns for game 1 and scoring 21 runs.
