Box Score MCPHERSON, KS-- The Texas Wesleyan baseball team (14-10, 3-3 SAC) dropped the final game of a three-game SAC series against Central Christian College (7-14, 1-2) on Monday afternoon.

The Tigers took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning after a two-run home-run by Mason Seay. TXWES responded with a run in the top of the second inning on a single by Trey Erwin to score Marcos Sanchez. Central Christian College scored two runs in the bottom half of the inning to extend its lead to 5-1. 

The Rams put together a three-run third inning that started off with a homerun by Hayden Hutchins. Trey Erwin blasted his second single of the game to score Jake Ervin and Marcos Sanchez to cut the deficit to one run. After three innings of play The Tigers led 5-4. 

After 9 runs between the two teams in the first three innings of the game, the pitching took over as only one run was scored from the fourth to sixth inning. TXWES tied the game in the sixth inning after Tomas Sanchez reached base on a double and scored after stealing third base. 

The Tigers regained the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning after a two-run home-run by Mason Seay. After 7 innings of play, CCCK. led 7-5. TXWES continued to battle in the top of the ninth inning. Jose Sosa hit into a double play, but picked up an RBI as Joseph Barfield scored a run to cut the deficit to one. The Rams were not able to complete a comeback as the Tigers won 7-6.

Morgan McCloud pitched two innings, giving up 5 hits, 5 runs, and striking out 4 batters. Garrett Moltzan pitched four innings giving up five hits, 1 run, and recording five strikeouts. Brayden McAlister finished the last two innings of the game recording three strikeouts, giving up one hit, and recording three strikeouts. 

Joseph Barfield went 2 for 4 at the plate, Hayden Hutchins went two for four with one RBI and a homerun, and Trey Erwin went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI's. 

The Rams will face Huston Tillotson on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Austin, Texas.
