The Texas Wesleyan University Women's Wrestling team performed admirably at the recent tournament, with several impressive showings across different weight classes. In the 101 weight class,
Jolie Lucas secured second place, winning one of her matches against Malarie Dominguez of Wayland Baptist University with a 13-6 decision. Lucas also secured an early win against Maya Conde from Wayland Baptist with a fall at just 0:28 seconds. Alyssa Quezaire of Missouri Baptist University proved too much for Lucas in her other match, with a 12-4 decision win.
Moving up to the 109 weight class,
Jasmine Sands secured the top position with an impressive record of 19-3, RS Fr. Sands was so dominant that her final match against
Kaycie Tanimoto of Texas Wesleyan was awarded by forfeit. Tanimoto had also performed well, winning her other match against Alana Garcia of Oklahoma City University with a no-contest (NC).
In the 116 weight class,
Camille Fournier of Texas Wesleyan secured second place with an overall record of 19-9. Fournier's match against Juliana Diaz of Missouri Baptist University proved to be a closely fought contest, with Diaz winning by a narrow 10-8 decision. Fournier's other match against Avery Ashley of Oklahoma City University was awarded to her via no-contest.
Finally, in the 123 weight class, Karoline Ortiz of Missouri Baptist University secured the top position with a 3-0 record, RS Jr. Ortiz's final match against Sophia Smith of Oklahoma City University was a closely fought contest that saw Ortiz win by a narrow 7-7 decision. Smith performed well, winning her other match against Tess Barnett of Wayland Baptist University with a fall at just 1:17.
Texas Wesleyan University had a strong showing at the recent wrestling match, with Lexie Basham taking first place in her weight class.
