The TXWES Men's Golf team competed in the Claud Jacobs Invitational at Victoria Country Club in Victoria, TX, on Monday and Tuesday and finished second in the tournament.
The Men's Golf team finished the tournament with a 886 total (+22 over par). Senior Chayan Duha led the team with rounds of 74, 70 and 72 (E) and finished the tournament in second place.
Junior Tom Ammann shot rounds of 73, 70 and 74 (+1) and finished in a T3, with Sophomore Jung Whoo Youn who had rounds of 69, 71 and 77.
Sophomore Brayden Inglebrigtsen shot rounds of 74, 74 and 75 (+7) and finished T11 with four other golfers. Junior Juan Ricardo Davila Bone shot rounds of 75, 74 and 75 (+8) and finished T16 with two other golfers.
Senior Brandon Powers shot rounds 76, 74 and 75 (+11) and finished T25 with two other golfers. Sophomore Agustin Marquez shot rounds of 77, 74 and 79 (+14) and finished in 34th place.
Rounding out the tournament scoring for the Rams was senior Nicholas Changanier shot rounds of 76, 76 and 80 (+20) and finished in 44th place.
The field in Claude Jacobs Invitational consisted of eight teams including host University of Houston at Victoria, St. Thomas (FL), Blinn College, Campbellsville, Our Lady of the Lake, Texas a&m at San Antonio and University of the Soutwest.
The tournament started the spring season for the Rams, who will next play in the Keiser Cup, in West Palm Beach, FL, at the Okeeheelee Golf Course, on March 5 to March 7.
