SILVIS — Texas Wesleyan University began its campaign at the NAIA National Championship, finishing tied for 28th with a team score of 311 (+31) after the first round. 

Kolbe Fielder and Jose Manuel Sanchez led the team, each recording a 76 (+6), securing a tie for 78th individually.

Texas Wesleyan completed the first round of the NAIA Men's National Championship tied for 28th place with a team score of 311, finishing 31 strokes over par on the par-70 course at TPC at Deere Run. 

The individual performances were led by Fielder and Sanchez, who both shot 76, tying them for 78th place at 6-over par. Jesper Brinchmann-Hansen followed with a score of 79, placing him tied for 125th at 9-over par. Brady Meek contributed an 80, positioning him in a tie for 132nd at 10-over par, while Haroon Aslam rounded out the team scoring with an 81, tying for 140th at 11-over par. 

The side faced tough competition with USAO leading the field at 281, 1-over par. The Rams will look to improve their standing in the subsequent rounds of the championship.

Kolbe Fielder tied for 78th position, finishing the first round with a score of 76, six over par. His consistent play kept him in the middle of the pack during the opening day at TPC Deere Run.

Jose Manuel Sanchez matched Fielder's score, also carding a 76 to tie for 78th. His performance mirrored his teammate's steady approach, contributing to the Rams' overall effort.

Jesper Brinchmann-Hansen ended the day tied for 125th with a first-round score of 79, nine over par. Despite a challenging round, he maintained focus and completed the course.

Brady Meek recorded an 80 in the opening round, placing him in a tie for 132nd. His performance saw him navigate the 6,703-yard course as he aimed for improvement in the subsequent rounds.

Haroon Aslam finished the round in a tie for 140th, posting a score of 81, eleven over par. Aslam faced tough conditions but completed his round, looking forward to better results.
