NORMAN – Texas Wesleyan University led all collegiate golf programs in the nation with seven student-athletes earning 2025-26 NAIA Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced Monday.

The Rams' seven selections were the most by any school across all six collegiate divisions recognized by the GCAA, highlighting Texas Wesleyan's commitment to academic and athletic excellence.

Representing Texas Wesleyan on the 2025-26 NAIA Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar Team were Luke Akerman, Haroon Aslam, Jesper Brinchmann-Hansen, Kolbe Fielder, Brady Meek, Yevgeniy (Gene) Ryu and Jose Manuel Sanchez.

A total of 81 NAIA student-athletes from 28 institutions earned the distinction this year. Coastal Georgia, Northwestern (Iowa), USAO and William Carey each had five honorees, while OUAZ, Reinhardt and Texas A&M-San Antonio placed four student-athletes on the list. Texas Wesleyan's seven recipients were the highest total among all institutions recognized by the GCAA in NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA.

To qualify for NAIA Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar recognition, student-athletes must be sophomores, juniors or seniors academically and athletically, compete in at least 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, maintain a stroke average below 78.0, and carry a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. Recipients also must be of high moral character and in good standing with their institution.
