SILVIS — Texas Wesleyan concluded its participation in the NAIA Men's National Championship with a team score of 299 (+19) after the second round, placing 25th overall.
Despite the tough conditions and competitive field, the team maintained its composure and aims to improve in future tournaments.
Head coach Kevin Long said it was disappointing to finish the year missing the cut at Nationals, but added that it does not diminish an otherwise great season.
"I was proud of how our guys represented our program and Texas Wesleyan all year and especially this week when things did not go our way," Long said. "We'll use this experience to get better and prepare for 26-27!"
Jose Manuel Sanchez tied for 60th after carding a 73 (+3) in the second round. His performance placed him among the top finishers for the Rams on Day 2.
Haroon Aslam finished the second round with a score of 74 (+4), securing a tie for 103rd place. His consistent play contributed to the team's overall effort at the championship.
Kolbe Fielder tied for 79th, recording a second-round score of 76 (+6). His round was marked by resilience as he navigated the challenging course conditions.
Brady Meek matched Fielder with a score of 76 (+6) in Round 2, finishing in a tie for 117th. Meek demonstrated determination throughout the day.
Sebastian Velasquez faced a tough round, shooting an 83 (+13) and tying for 157th. Despite the challenges, Velasquez completed the round, contributing to the team's total score.
