FORT WORTH, TX– Texas Wesleyan University has announced the 2022 Fall Dean's List recipients. A total of 138 undergraduate student-athletes earned this distinctive honor across three schools on campus. The criteria for the Dean's List is to mark a 3.5 GPA or higher during the semester.

62 Students for the School of Business Administration

23 Students for the School of Education

53 Students for the School of Arts and Sciences

Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services and Retention Jill Gerloff says that this is a big win for the athletic department.

"This shows our student-athletes are dedicated to being academically successful and graduating as well as being great staples on the field," she said. " The athletic department is determined to improve and increase the number of athletes who receive these NAIA recognitions as well as overall team GPA's."

Gerloff says one of the keys to athletes being academically successful is to use the resources around them on campus. 

"If you are struggling with anything, ask for help," she said. " Speak with the other athletes about how they manage their time, take advantage during off time to talk to tutors, use the study rooms, and talk to advisors. We have a secured a space on campus and it is being transformed in a student athlete study room where they will be able to take care of their academics"

"We can't help you succeed if we don't know what it is you need."
