Texas Wesleyan took the lead early in the second inning when
Angel Polanco's double brought
Logan Silvertooth home, setting the tone for the game.
The Rams extended their lead in the fourth inning, with Silvertooth's double and Polanco's sacrifice fly adding two more runs to their tally.
However, the Pioneers fought back in the seventh inning, as Brayden Peyton's single and an error allowed them to score two runs, narrowing the gap to just one run. Despite WBU's efforts, Texas Wesleyan's pitching held firm, securing the win.

Justin Ward claimed the win with a solid performance over 6.1 innings, allowing only two runs and striking out six.
Jorge Carvajal came in for the save, shutting down Wayland Baptist's offense in the final two outs.
In game two, TXWES edged out WBU in a 4-3 walk-off win.
Wayland Baptist drew first blood in the second inning when Gustavo Nava scored on a balk, giving them an early lead.
However, Texas Wesleyan responded in the fourth inning with
Aiden Kenney's RBI single, leveling the score.
Wayland Baptist regained the lead in the fifth inning, with Jan Rollon's sacrifice bringing home Vann Johnson, followed by Hayden Ingram scoring on a wild pitch.
However, the Rams quickly answered in the sixth inning with
Dylan Masanda's RBI double, narrowing the Pioneer's lead.
The game reached its climax in the seventh inning, as Texas Wesleyan capitalized on wild pitches to score two crucial runs.
Conner DeLeon and
TJ Tomlinson advanced and scored on wild pitches, securing the lead for Texas Wesleyan.
Pitching was instrumental in Texas Wesleyan's victory, with
Parker Bigham claiming the win after a solid performance over 2.1 innings, allowing only one run. Wayland Baptist's Tyson Potts took the loss despite a strong effort, pitching 6.1 innings and allowing four runs.
With this win, Texas Wesleyan improved their record to 25-15 and 13-7 in SAC play, while Wayland Baptist's record now stands at 17-23 and 7-10 in the conference.
The Rams will close out the weekend series against Wayland on Saturday at Sycamore Park, with the first pitch scheduled for noon.
