FORT WORTH - Texas Wesleyan University women's wrestling delivered several standout performances at the AMC/SAC Conference Championships, securing third place in the team standings with 128 points.
Headlining the Rams' efforts was Camille Fournier, who earned Wrestler of the Year honors after winning the 117-pound weight class. Fournier defeated Mia Arceneaux of Wayland Baptist in the championship match to claim the individual title.
Sam Barragan was named Newcomer of the Year after a strong showing at 138 pounds, where she placed second behind Wayland Baptist's Jordan Suarez.
The Rams also claimed the Most Pins in the Least Time award, with Taydem Khamjoi recording two pins in just 3 minutes and 4 seconds. Khamjoi went on to finish second in the 160-pound division.
In addition to the individual awards, Texas Wesleyan saw multiple wrestlers place in their respective weight classes. Melissa McCue placed fourth at 117 pounds, Alyssa Moreno took third at 124 pounds, and Kayla Nguyen earned fourth at 131 pounds.
At 145 pounds, the Rams placed two wrestlers, with Aubrey Yauger finishing third and Pella LeFever placing fourth.
The Rams crowned one individual champion: Ashley Lekas, who claimed the title at 180 pounds, defeated Oklahoma City's Ella Murphey in the final.
Rounding out Texas Wesleyan's placers was Abigail Fonseca, who finished second at 207 pounds.
Texas Wesleyan finished behind Oklahoma City and Wayland Baptist in the team standings, but the Rams' strong individual performances highlighted the program's continued growth and success within the conference.
