DENTON - Texas Wesleyan University Gold Line Dancers had an amazing showing at American Dance Collegiate Competition on Saturday, March 29. The team, comprised of 7 members, competed with Team Pep Rally, and Team Open Performance, a style consisting of jazz, pom and hip hop all in a 2-minute segment. American Dance (@danceADTS) places Texas Wesleyan in the DIII category, with over 21 collegiate teams attending. The showing is Texas Wesleyan's 7th appearance in the competition since the team began in 2017, only missing the 2020 COVID year.
Here is how they placed:
College Division DIII Team Pep Rally: 1st Runner Up
College Division DIII Team Open Performance: 1st Runner Up
College Division DIII Overall: 3rd Runner Up
We would like to give special recognition to our assistant coach, choreographer and mentor, Jazmine Hampton, who guided our team to success in this competition! She continues to motivate our team, push us and pave the path to Nationals. Thank you for your support and dedication to our group this year! The team is under the Direction of Coach Emily Snow.
Join us Sunday, April 6 as the Dance team and the Cheer team show their Nationals performances at their annual Spring Showcase in the Side Richardson Gym. Free to attend. The show starts at 6:00pm.
