DALLAS — The Texas Wesleyan University cheerleading team launched its path to the 2026 NCA College Nationals with an impressive performance at the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Cheer Camp, held July 18-20 at Southern Methodist University.
Appearing for their fifth time at the prestigious camp, the Rams delivered a historic showing, securing a bid to the national competition in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The team showcased two dynamic routines in the Game Day and Rally divisions, finishing just behind Division I powerhouse Stephen F. Austin State University. Their efforts earned three Superior Ribbons and the coveted NCA Spirit Stick, highlighting their skill and spirit.
For the first time in program history, Texas Wesleyan athletes qualified to try out for NCA All-American honors. Sophomores Addison Tipps and Savannah Green competed with a running full, a toe-touch back, and an elite stunting skill.
"They came up just short of making the team, but this is a huge accomplishment for our program," said Head Coach Terrance Davis, known as Coach T.
In the Top Gun Stunt Competition, a fearless squad of Da'Naiya, Kiara, Olivia, and Cassidy performed a high-difficulty sequence. Despite a minor fall that prevented a final placement, their effort underscored the program's growing competitiveness.
"People are noticing us, and we're being seen," Coach T said.
