DAYTONA BEACH, FL - Texas Wesleyan University spirit teams traveled to Daytona Beach for the NCA Nationals and came back with some impressive hardware. After narrowly missing out on first place in 2025, the Rams returned to Daytona Beach more determined than ever to make history in 2026, and they did just that.
The Rams for the first time in program history won the NAIA Gameday Division, dominating in-state rival Our Lady of the Lake by six points to take home first place. Texas Wesleyan led after the initial prelims and never looked back as they had an outstanding performance to finish in first. The Gameday Performance group was made up of several cheer and gold line dancers as well as several members from the drum line team to put together a a team of champions.
The All-Girl NAIA Intermediate division was filled with eight teams looking to take home first in a competitive field. After the initial prelims, Hope International had the lead with a score of 93.287, followed by Texas Wesleyan with 92.4815 and Cumberland with 85.5787. The Rams battled, but ultimately fell short of Hope International by only 0.8 to take second place in the division.
When asked about his team's performance "I'm so proud of the All-Girls team for what they've accomplished and setting the bar even higher" said head cheer coach
Terrance Davis. "History was made with us winning in the game day division to help us win our first ever NCA title".
