FB: Texas Wesleyan Slips to No. 22 in NAIA Football Poll

KANSAS CITY - Texas Wesleyan University dropped three spots to No. 22 in the second edition of the 2025 Netting Professionals NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll, released Monday, as Grand View (Iowa) maintained its unanimous No. 1 ranking for the third consecutive week.

Grand View (3-0) secured a 24-7 road victory over Baker (Kan.) on Saturday, with Bryant Williams contributing 106 rushing yards and 89 receiving yards, while Tracy Davis sealed the win with an interception. The Vikings, who received all 16 first-place votes, will host Saint Ambrose (Iowa) for homecoming on Saturday at noon CT.

Carroll (Mont.) made a significant leap, climbing seven spots to No. 18, while St. Thomas (Fla.) surged into the top 10 at No. 10 after defeating then-No. 6 Georgetown (Ky.) 26-7, dropping the Tigers to No. 12. Montana Tech (4-0) and Friends (Kan.) (4-0) each advanced one position to No. 6 and No. 7, respectively, while Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) (4-0) moved up two spots to No. 8 after a 35-27 comeback win over Reinhardt (Ga.).

Keiser (Fla.) held steady at No. 2 with a 42-12 rout of Cumberlands (Ky.), led by Shea Spencer's three touchdown passes, including a 71-yard strike to Mauricio Porcha. The Seahawks (3-0) will open Sun Conference play against Thomas (Ga.) on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET.

Benedictine (Kan.) (3-1) remained at No. 3, with Jackson Dooley setting a program record for career passing yards (7,961) after throwing for 422 yards and five touchdowns in a 48-10 win over Clarke (Iowa). The Ravens face Peru State (Neb.) on Saturday in a Heart of America crossover game.

Morningside (Iowa) (2-1) stayed at No. 4 after a 55-37 win over Midland (Neb.), fueled by a Jack Brickhouse interception and a strip-sack recovered by Teyel Lowe. The Mustangs travel to Hastings (Neb.) for a GPAC matchup at 1 p.m. CT.

Indiana Wesleyan (3-1) held at No. 5, with Brock Thomason's walk-off interception securing a one-point victory over Olivet Nazarene (Ill.). Braxton Myers added 121 receiving yards and a touchdown. The Wildcats face No. 19 Marian (Ind.) on Saturday at 1:05 p.m. ET.

Montana Tech's Levi Torgerson had eight catches for 222 yards and four touchdowns in a 37-14 win over then-No. 24 Southern Oregon, setting up a matchup with No. 25 College of Idaho on Saturday at noon MT. Friends (Kan.) continued its dominance, scoring 59 points against Tabor (Kan.) and leading the NAIA with 64 points per game.

Montana Western (2-1) stayed at No. 9 after a 35-21 win over Rocky Mountain (Mont.), with Michael Palandri throwing for 350 yards and three touchdowns. The Bulldogs host No. 20 Dickinson State (N.D.) on Saturday at 1 p.m. MT.

The poll, voted on by a panel of head coaches from each NAIA conference and the Continental Athletic Conference, uses a points-based system, with 30 points for a first-place vote, 29 for second, and so on. The highest and lowest rankings for each team are discarded before the final tally. The poll is for publicity purposes only and does not impact national championship consideration.
