VICTORIA - Yevgeniy "Gene" Ryu finished third individually at 1-under par to lead Texas Wesleyan's men's golf team to a runner-up finish in the team standings at the Claud Jacobs Invitational on Tuesday.
The Rams posted a three-round total of 10-over par at Victoria Country Club to place second behind Weatherford, which won the 13-team event at 14-under. Texas Wesleyan's "B" squad tied for fifth at 42-over.
Ryu, the top finisher for the main squad, shot rounds of 1-under, even-par and even-par for a 215 total. Kolbe Fielder tied for sixth at 2-over, Luke Akerman tied for 16th at 6-over, Jose Manuel Sanchez tied for 24th at 9-over and Benjamin Leon tied for 32nd at 13-over to help the Rams compile their 10-over team score.
Texas Wesleyan's "B" team was paced by Haroon Aslam, who tied for 24th at 9-over, and Jesper Brinchmann-Hansen, who placed 27th at 10-over. Matisse Lassequin and T.J. Gigowski both tied for 29th at 12-over, while Graham Moses finished 62nd at 29-over.
The Rams will next compete at the Keiser Kup hosted by Keiser University and in West Palm Beach, FL from Mar 8-10, 2026.
