OKLAHOMA CITY – Brendon Vela of Texas Wesleyan has been named this week's Sooner Athletic Conference Netting Pros/STADIONIC Baseball Player of the Week for his efforts over the past week, as announced by the conference office Monday morning. Marking the third time this season he has been selected for the honor.
Vela helped the Rams to a 4-0 record last week by going 11-of-17 at the plate for a batting average of .647. Vela had three extra-base hits, including a triple and a home run, en route to driving in four runs and scoring five himself. Vela finished the week with a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .647 on-base percentage.
