OKLAHOMA CITY - Texas Wesleyan University led the Sooner Athletic Conference with a league-best 107 student-athletes named to the 2025-26 SAC Scholar-Athlete Team, the conference announced Friday, highlighting the Rams' continued commitment to academic excellence.

The Sooner Athletic Conference recognized 696 student-athletes on its annual Scholar-Athlete list for their academic achievements during the 2025-26 school year. Oklahoma City finished second with 105 honorees, while Nelson ranked third with 87 recipients.

The SAC Scholar-Athlete honor recognizes student-athletes competing in NAIA-recognized sports who are juniors or above in academic standing and have maintained a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5. Eligible student-athletes also must have attended at least two full years at their current institution as a non-transfer or one full year as a transfer, with only their current institution's cumulative GPA considered.

Texas Wesleyan's conference-leading total reflects the university's dedication to success both in the classroom and in athletic competition, with Rams student-athletes representing numerous sports across the department earning the prestigious academic honor.
