SALINA, Kan. - The Texas Wesleyan University Tennis team competed in the ITA Regional Tournament where
Zeynep Ege and
Paulina Hudson emerged the women's doubles champions. This marks the second time that Texas Wesleyan will be represented in the ITA National Tournament.
Texas Wesleyan had several Rams represented in the ITA Regional Tournament with the majority of them making some serious noise. In men's doubles, Will Bayliss and
Charlie Woods made it to the quarterfinals before being knocked out by the number one seed from Morningside.
Yoni Danzic and
Alejo Zurmendi both made improvements as they both made it to the round of 16 in men's singles. Ege and Hudson built on their success last year by winning the women's doubles championship and advancing to the ITA National Tournament. The women's team was represented well and made some great strides as
Karen Yibirin,
Adiya Abdugappar, and Mai Tshushima all took home singles wins to round out the Rams successful weekend.
Ege and Hudson will compete at the ITA National Tournament in Rome, GA on October 15-18 in women's doubles.
