SAN ANTONIO, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University men and women’s track and field teams ran a full slate at Trinity University’s Tiger Relays on Friday.
 
The Lady Rams posted their top results in the distance runs.  Jessica Davis placed fifth in the 1500m with a time of 4:55.12 while Lauri Gutierrez finished 11th at 5:06.94.  In the 5000m, Ana Segovia's time of 21:08.64 was good for eighth place.
 
In the 400m hurdles, Germesha Shelton just missed the top-ten, placing 11th at 1:13.87.  Meanwhile Alexxa Shelton placed sixth in the shot put with a throw of 11.22m.
 
On the Men’s side, Ramiro Garcia notched a pair of top-ten finishes running the 5000m in 16:03.83 (3rd) and the 800m in 1:58.97 (10th).  Bobby Hawes placed sixth in the 5000m at 16:16.67 and Juan Salazar finished fifth in the 3000m steeplechase at 11:03.58.
 
Lawrence Pope also saw his first action of the spring and notched a second place finish with a javelin throw of 45.35m.
 
The Rams will return to action April 6-7 at the North Texas Invitational in Denton, TX.
