ARLINGTON — Texas Wesleyan University's men's and women's track and field teams sent athletes to compete across multiple events at the UTA Invitational on March 13-14 at Maverick Stadium, highlighted by two first-place finishes on the men's side.

On the men's team, sophomore Korey Allen won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:48.08. Freshman Luke Mason claimed the javelin title with a throw of 66.35 meters (175 feet, 7 inches).

Sophomore Jaiden Reed placed fifth in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.21 seconds. In the pole vault, sophomore Aidan Garza cleared 4.52 meters (14 feet, 1¼ inches) for fourth place.

The throws group delivered several top finishes. Freshman Xavier Perez took fourth in the shot put at 15.42 meters and 11th in the discus at 38.01 meters. He also finished sixth in the hammer at 27.53 meters. Junior Wilbert Martin placed fifth in the shot put at 13.13 meters, 14th in the discus at 37.15 meters and seventh in the hammer at 22.72 meters. Freshman Alex Tisdale finished eighth in the discus at 38.01 meters, third in the hammer at 36.94 meters and had no mark in the shot put.

Additional men's results included: freshman Abdiel Pabon (24th, 400 meters, 57.01); junior Roberto Jaimes (44th, 800 meters, 2:12.25); freshman Sean Torres (32nd, 1,500 meters, 4:27.15); sophomore Jose Hernandez (43rd, 1,500 meters, 4:34.47); and freshman Malachi Grenardo-Redhead (48th, 1,500 meters, 5:29.95). Freshman Marcus Rodriguez placed eighth in the javelin at 37.56 meters.

On the women's side, sophomore Kaitlyn Walker cleared 3.36 meters for fifth place in the pole vault. Junior Trinnity Reese competed in the throwing events, finishing eighth in the discus with a best of 42.90 meters, sixth in the hammer at 29.86 meters and no mark in the shot put after fouling all attempts.

The Rams will nest compete at the TCU Alumni Invitational on Mar. 20-21.
