Beltran, Orebaugh Named RRAC Players of the Week

FORT WORTH, TX:  After guiding the Texas Wesleyan University softball team to the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament title over the weekend, Alexis Beltran has been named RRAC Softball Pitcher of the Week while Courtney Orebaugh was selected as Player of the Week.
 
Beltran, a sophomore pitcher from Upland, CA, worked all 23 innings of the tournament for TWU, powering the Lady Rams to their first tournament championship. Beltran, who posted a perfect 14-0 record during conference play, allowed just three earned runs (0.91 ERA) while striking out 10. In the semifinal and final games, she stymied Our Lady of the Lake University (TX) on back-to-back days, allowing two earned runs in 16 innings against the Saints. For the tournament, she held opponents to a .190 average.
 
Orebaugh, a senior outfielder from White Settlement, TX, batted .500 in three tournament games, going 5-for-10 with three RBI. She went 3-for-3 with an RBI in a second-round win over Bacone then delivered a 2-for-3 performance with a double and a pair of RBI in the championship game against OLLU.
 
The Lady Rams are 25-17 heading into the NAIA Softball National Championship which will be held in Gulf Shores, AL, May 17-23.
