Texas Wesleyan threatened in the sixth with a lead-off base hit up the middle from Anderson.
Dani West entered the game to pinch run, but was thrown out trying to steal second on a throw that just happened to be in the right spot at the right time.
Lauren Davis kept the inning alive with another single up the middle, but the Lady Rams were unable to produce.
The Knights added an insurance run in the seventh with a Gabby Esparza bloop single down the right field line that just stayed fair.
The Lady Rams chased Northwood pitcher Anne Diercks out of the game in the bottom of the seventh after a Tucker RBI single to shallow left center made it a 5-2 game. Megan Spence came in to ball game to face Kizer with two outs. Kizer ripped one in the left center gap to score two runs to cut the lead to 5-4, but Northwood escaped with the game two win.
