Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University softball team (22-19, 15-13 SAC) split a pair of games against Mid-America Christian University (30-20, 12-14 SAC) at Sycamore Park on Saturday. The Evangels got a 4-2 win in eight innings in game one before the Lady Rams came back to win game two, 2-1.

In game one, the Evangels got on the board in the second inning with a walk and a single, putting a runner in scoring position with no outs to start the inning. Tiffany Holt drove in a run on a base hit to center field to take the lead. Another run crossed the plate on a Lady Ram error trying to turn a double play. Texas Wesleyan did a good job of minimizing the damage despite two errors and two hits in the inning, but the Evangels came away with a 2-0 lead.

The Lady Rams cut the lead in half in the fourth inning, starting with a Kendall Kizer base hit up the middle. Chelsea Anderson lined a double to center to give Wesleyan favorable conditions with no outs. Mid-America Christian got out of the inning with only a Kali Jester sacrifice fly that scored pinch runner Dani West to make it a 2-1 game.

Texas Wesleyan tied the ball game in the fifth after Ashley Seibel started things off with a double down the left field line. Raven Moreno hit a sacrifice bunt to move the runner, but an errant throw allowed Seibel to score to make a 2-2 game heading to the sixth inning.

The Rams made a run in the sixth on three Mid-America Christian mishaps to load the bases, but the Evangels got out of the inning to keep it tied at 2-2.

The two teams took the tie to extra innings. Mid-America Christian dodged a bullet on a questionable call on fielder's choice tag at third, and an error on a delayed steal play scored the runner.  The Evangels scored another run an Ashley Sanford double down the right field line to take a 4-2 lead.

The Lady Rams put up a fight in the bottom half of the inning, ending with an 11 pitch at bat for Jester, but Wesleyan took a 4-2 game one loss. Meagen Alvarez went 2 for 4. Seibel went 1 for 3 with a run scored.

In the second game, Mid-America Christian took an early lead in the second inning with a Jackie Hilterbran home run to left field for a 1-0 lead.

Texas Wesleyan took the lead in the third inning with a two run rally. Moreno walked to lead off, and stole second in the next at bat.  Amber Tucker hit a single through the left side. Kizer did her job and tied the game on a RBI groundout. Anderson put the Rams on top with a RBI single to right center for a 2-1 lead.

The score held, and Amanda Windham (6-7) charged through the heart of the Mid-America Christian lineup in the top of the seventh to earn the win. She tossed all seven innings, gave up a run on three hits, with one walk and two strikeouts.

Tucker went 2 for 3 with a run scored. Anderson went 1 for 3 with a RBI. Moreno was 1 for 1 with a run scored.
