FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women's basketball team (3-11, 1-5 SAC) dropped an 82-62 conference game to defending national champion No. 8 Oklahoma City University 12-2, 6-0 SAC) at the Sid Richardson Center on Saturday.

Evie Whorley picked up her second double-double of the season behind 10 points and 10 rebounds, but the Stars outshot the Lady Rams from the floor, 51-39 percent.

The Stars used most of the first quarter to build a double digit lead, but the Lady Rams used a 6-0 rally that featured four points and three rebounds from
Falesha Fuller.
Lexi Burns fired a long range shot to make it a six-point game with four minutes left in the half, before
Karah Sicurella found
Tomi Sanchez on a face break to make it a 30-26 deficit.
Nicole Gleason hit a buzzer beater from behind the arc to make it a three-point game at the break.

The Stars had a great third quarter, outscoring the Lady Rams 34-9. TXWES couldn't find the bottom of the net, and Oklahoma City took full advantage.

The Lady Rams won the fourth quarter 24-16 as the Stars coasted to a 20-point win.

TXWES held their own against the Stars in the paint, as each team garnered 26 points from that spot on the floor. Gleason, Burns, and Fuller each finished with nine points.

The Lady Rams will continue their home stand by welcoming John Brown to Fort Worth on Thursday, January 11. That game set for 6:00 p.m. start. Â Â
