FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University head softball coach
Shannon Gower announced this morning a postponement of the SAC doubleheader between the Lady Rams and Mid-America Christian University scheduled for today, Friday April 13.
Â
The Lady Rams and Evangels will now play on Wednesday, April 25, starting at 1:00 p.m. at Sycamore Park.
Â
The contest was originally scheduled for April 7, but threat of thunderstorms forced a move to today. Once again, a forecast of scattered storms was enough to move the game to next Wednesday, April 25.
Â
The Lady Rams are 29-11 overall and 15-3 in conference play. The team sits in third in SAC standings, with No. 5 Oklahoma City (36-5, 21-1 SAC) in first, and No. 3 Science and Arts (38-3, 21-3 SAC) in second.
Â
This past week, TXWES notched an upset doubleheader sweep of Science and Arts and also swept the NAIA National Player and Pitcher of the Week awards.
Makenna Aycock was named pitcher of the week, while
Bailey Terry was named player of the week. It was the first time this season that teammates earned both awards in the same week.
Â
The Lady Rams will travel to Muskogee, OK for a conference doubleheader with Bacone College tomorrow, April 14. First pitch is set for noon. Â
